Delta Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Day Hospital Program is an amazing outpatient treatment program that provides those who come to us for help a combination of ambulatory, active treatment programs that offer therapeutically intense, organized, and highly-structured clinical interventions. Our goal for our Day Programs is to help stabilize individuals who are struggling with psychiatric disorders in an outpatient setting. Our Day Programs are designed to provide an intensive level of care for our patients in order to prevent admission to our inpatient behavioral health unit. We also offer our Day Programs to provide additional clinical support for individuals who are stepping down from our inpatient program.
Delta Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Day Hospital Program provides two distinct levels of care. Admission to the programs is based on an assessment of needs, as well as certain admission criteria. An individual must be over the age of 18 and willing to participate in the treatment voluntarily. Symptoms or behaviors must not be a danger to the individual or others, but do impact educational, social, or occupational functioning. An individual joining our day program must not require 24 hour care, but requires clinical monitoring to prevent admission or readmission to our inpatient program.
We offer two different Day Hospital Programs for individuals who need focused outpatient therapy: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Both programs will focus upon psychological, psychosocial, and medication management. Our interdisciplinary committee composed of registered nurses, licensed social workers, and mental healthcare technicians operates under the direction of our psychiatrist who will make certain to meet all the needs of your treatment plan.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a step-down from our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and designed for individuals who have a strong social support network and stable home environment. IOP may be used as a step down from PHP or as a step up from traditional outpatient therapies. Individuals who join our IOP participate in group and individual therapeutic programs three days a week for four hours a day. Our IOP operates Monday through Friday from 9:15AM to 2:00PM. We do have transportation available for residents of Memphis, should that be a necessity. We also offer breakfast and lunch for all participants in our Day Hospital program.
The Evening IOP is located at the Getwell Place for Addiction Recovery (GPAR) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
