Program Description

Delta Medical Center's Mental Health Unit is a diagnostic and treatment inpatient program designed for ages 18 and above to address the behavioral and medical health concerns in a safe, secure environment for patients needing acute psychiatric care and stabilization. Treatment strategies focus on assisting patients to develop and enhance coping skills that will enable the patient to reintegrate into the family and community.

Program Goals

Treatment is individualized for each patient to address physical and behavioral needs. We seek:
To provide a safe environment on a secure unit.
To provide behavioral health and medical stabilization and care based on individual patient needs.
To assist the patient and family in planning and providing for the appropriate care after discharge.
To protect and ensure patient rights.

Services

Comprehensive medical, behavioral, and psychosocial assessments are provided by a qualified interdisciplinary treatment team that includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, masters level counselors and social workers, dieticians, and recreational therapists. Our 25 bed unit offers 24 hour nursing care, along with daily therapeutic program activities. Family members are included in many aspects of the patient's treatment and are encouraged to participate throughout the process.
